Hey There, I'm Becca

I want learn about your passions so I can help you thrive as you continue to pursue your dreams in athletics. Here is a little bit about me so you can understand my passion to help you.

The Full Story

I have been an athlete my whole life. Between dancing since I could walk, playing volleyball in high school and college, and finally finding CrossFit I have found so many different ways to move my body throughout my life, and all of it has been fun and challenging in different ways. I remember performing and competing when I was a kid and thinking that I had to get everything right when someone was watching me. Whether it be executing the choreography exactly how it was supposed to be performed, or needing to be in the perfect spot to pick up the dig in volleyball I always felt pressured to do more when someone I cared about was in the crowd watching. What I noticed when my loved ones watched was my performances fell apart. I would be off time with the music, or I could never get to where I needed to be on the court and I just felt like I couldn't play my normal game. Back then I didn't know that the pressure I was putting on myself to play well in front of them was actually making me worse.

Taking a step back from dance and volleyball, and getting into the gym to focus on what I needed to do for myself I realized that working on my mentality about my performances and competitions would help me play my best no matter who was in the stands. During that time away I was in college and while I knew I wanted to help people I did not know exactly how, until I learned that I could go to school for sport psychology to work with athletes and performers on the exact thing that I struggled with as a kid, mental strength coaching (if you want to know more about the differences between sport psychology and mental strength coaching check out my page What is Mental Strength Coaching?).

Six years and two degrees later (a bachelors in psychology from Boise State and a masters in kinesiology with a focus in sport and exercise psychology from Western Washington University), here I am working athletes and dancers on their performance anxiety by helping them process the pressure they are putting on themselves and seeing them thrive in their element.

If any of my story resonated with you please schedule a free 15 minute phone consultation here to see if mental strength coaching will help you be the best player or dancer you can be.
